JoshRoy Preview for NEH Magazine

Photographs by Michele Farley

As March approaches, so does my article in “The New Seoul Establishment Issue” of NEH Magazine featuring the artist my girlfriend and I refer to as “Your boy… JoshRoy”. Having admired his music for a long time, it’s been a pleasure lately getting to know the man behind some of our favorite songs since moving to Korea. The lyrics, “When you see me dancing”, and “I wanna be your Valentine” get thrown around during our time together more than JoshRoy would think. Not only that, but he’s just a good dude, and somebody you want to support.

In the piece you will learn about his background, his current projects and what is on tap for the future. You will also learn about the reggae scene in Korea (Yes, there is one), and you will presented with a listing featuring many styles of reggae music. JoshRoy performs what he refers to as reggae fusion, combining several styles of the art form. Stay tuned for a guide matching which JoshRoy tracks fall in to these categories of reggae music, as well as how you can listen them for yourself.

Come out to the release party this Saturday 3/12 at Roofer’s in Itaewon to see JoshRoy perform and pick up your copy of the magazine.
